Innovative Converged Devices, short ICD, a company based in Britain, already made lot of buzz with their nifty prototype tablets they created for the carriers T-Mobile in Britain (Vega) and for Verizon in the USA (Ultra). According to they just revealed another device with a very stylish design – the ICD Gemini, a fully packed 11.2Inch Android tablet. All these tablets are running on the fast Nvidia Tegra 2 platform. Last week there where rumours that there are technical problems with that platform, but Nvidia denied and said they where on track. So let’s have a quick look on these devices, which represent the first league of Android tablets at the moment.

This is why I am thrilled by their design:

While the Ultra has kind of a prototype charm, the Vega’s design was more clear and reduced which I like. But the Gemini’s design is really classy, very smooth and noble. I really hope they don’t distribute the Gemini only through carriers as they will with the Ultra and the Vega.

I just collected the specs of the ICD Ultra, the ICD Vega and the ICD Gemini, as I found them:

If you want to see the Ultra and the Vega in action, just head over to Youtube and type ICD Vega/Ultra, there are plenty of videos. Until now, there is no video of the ICD Gemini, the newest baby. Will keep you updated as soon as there is a video.

All these ICD tablets are real beasts and beauties! The Tegra 2 plattform makes them really fast. They are packed with nearly everything you want, especially the new Gemini (I want one!!!). And they all are well designed. I hope they will come out soon, we are waiting too long yet. The only thing that I don’t like about ICD, is that they don’t seem to be willing to sell these babies alone. The Ultra and the Vega are meant to be distributed through some communication carriers like Verizon and T-Mobile. I hope they will change their mind for the ICD Gemini, because that is the Android Pad I always wanted.

UPDATE April 7, 2010: There’s the first hands-on review of the ICD Gemini at the website of
